Snake charm, part of a larger bead necklace from Birka, Sweden.
Twisted, braided and hammered threads were during the Viking Age developed into adornments and hand-crafted items of value, and worn by men and women as a token of status and wealth.
Individually numbered and hallmarked. A booklet detailing the age and the place of origin of the original is included.
