Description
Viking Age (800 - 1050 AD).
Stylised Earrings in the Urnaes fashion, named after the wood carvings on the church of Urnaes in Norway. The iconic wooden Stave Church of Urnes lends its name to the last phase of Viking art, which happens to be the most intricate, sophisticated and elegant. Typical of this style, the motif depicts a fantasy animal fighting a snake, and is often interpreted as Christianity in battle against Paganism - the latter of course represented by the serpent.
An ideal gift idea for Her.
