Viking Age (800-1050 AD).
Odin figure from Uppland, Sweden. The original is displayed at the Historiska Museet, Stockholm. In Germanic mythology Odin (English "Woden" , German Wotan) was the Allfather of the Aesir (Gods), and father to Thor. The figure bears striking similarities to the figures on the Sutton Hoo helmet, indicating that there was still a strong cultural connection between the Scandinavian and Anglo-Saxon cultures at the time.
